Mother gives 4-year-old daughter bag of food from Burger King then hears ‘Mom, I don’t want ketchup’

Tiffany Floyd made a quick stop at a Burger King drive-thru near her home in Western New York, hoping for a hassle-free meal with her four-year-old daughter. What was supposed to be a simple, enjoyable treat turned into a nightmare when her daughter raised concerns about the “ketchup” on her kid’s meal, setting off a chain of distressing events.

In a TikTok video that has since gone viral, Floyd recounted the disturbing experience. “Today I went to Burger King by my house,” she began. Floyd shared that shortly after she handed her daughter the meal, her daughter’s voice caught her attention. “Mom, I don’t want ketchup,” her daughter said, clearly unhappy with her meal. Floyd, assuming that the fast-food chain had simply made a mistake with their order, took the bag back to check. But what she found was far worse than a simple mix-up.

“When I looked inside the bag, I saw blood everywhere,” Floyd recounted in disbelief. Initially, like her daughter, she assumed it was ketchup smeared across the meal. But after a closer look, it became horrifyingly clear that it was not ketchup at all—it was blood. Floyd described the shock she felt in that moment, realizing that her young daughter had already eaten a few French fries and taken a bite from her cheeseburger before noticing something was wrong.

Floyd wasted no time in addressing the situation, contacting the Burger King location where she had purchased the meal. She demanded to speak with the manager, seeking an explanation for how something so dangerous could have happened. The manager admitted that an employee had recently cut their hand before preparing and bagging her food. Rather than responding with urgency or concern, the manager’s nonchalant attitude only added to Floyd’s frustration. “He was so casual about it, and I was absolutely livid,” she shared. The manager’s response was limited to offering a refund if she returned to the store.

Feeling that the situation was not being handled properly, Floyd took further action by contacting her local health department to file a formal report. However, to her dismay, she discovered that there was little that could be done on their end. While Burger King confirmed to *People* magazine that the Gettzville location where the incident took place was temporarily closed for deep cleaning and employee retraining, the damage had already been done for Floyd and her daughter.

Even with the fast food chain’s corrective measures, the traumatic experience continues to weigh heavily on Floyd. Her daughter now faces the need for monthly blood tests to ensure she was not exposed to any harmful pathogens. As a result of the incident, her daughter has developed a fear of eating, unable to shake the possibility that there could be blood in her food again.

Floyd expressed her ongoing distress over the entire situation, explaining that the impact of the incident goes beyond the immediate physical danger. It has deeply affected her daughter’s well-being and trust in something as simple as eating. Despite the efforts by Burger King to address the issue, Floyd remains upset and disheartened by what her family has been through.

In sharing her story on TikTok, where the video has already garnered more than six million views, Floyd hopes her experience will serve as a warning to others. She urges everyone to be more cautious when ordering from fast food establishments. “Every time you get food through a drive-thru, you open the bag up and start eating without even looking. I just want other people out there to check and see if they ate it, too,” she advised, hoping to prevent others from going through a similar ordeal.
